What we do

TOWING's Unique Smart Artificial Soil Development TechnologyHigh-Performance Soil Technology

High-performance soil technology is a microorganism culture technology created by adding microorganisms to biochar (porous material) such as plant charcoal, mixed with organic fertilizer, and managed under appropriate conditions.
TOWING's proprietary technologies related to biochar pretreatment and microbial cultivation are combined with technologies developed by the National Agriculture and Food Research Organization (NARO) for practical use.

Company's story

Our Specialty
Leads to stabilization of agricultural revenues
Ultra-high quality soil can be created in just one month
It usually takes three to five years to create good soil in a vineyard, but with high-performance soil technology, good soil can be created in only about one month.
The key to this technology is biochar. By allowing certain microorganisms to live in the tiny holes (porous material) of the charcoal, the soil becomes capable of decomposing organic fertilizers.

Soil that generates "Carbon Credits" that contribute to the SDGs and decarbonization
Since plant residues, livestock manure, sewage sludge, etc., which would normally be discarded or incinerated, are used as materials, CO2 emissions from incineration are reduced, contributing to CO2 reduction. In addition, since the material is carbonized into charcoal, it can be expected to fix and absorb carbon due to the nature of charcoal. From these effects, credits (emission credits) will be issued by the government for CO2 reductions, leading to decarbonization and enabling business development using carbon credits.
Our story
TOWING, a spin-off from Nagoya University, develops and sells a high-performance biochar called "Soratan," which uses "high-performance soil technology," a technology for managing artificial soil by adding microorganisms to biochar (porous material) such as charcoal and mixing it with organic fertilizer. This makes it possible to grow soil in only about one month, instead of the three to five years it usually takes for a field.
TOWING's proprietary technologies for biochar pretreatment and microbial cultivation are combined with technologies developed by the National Agriculture and Food Research Organization (NARO) for practical use.
Activities and research are also being actively conducted to apply this technology to the realization of space agriculture.
