What we do

100 years ahead
Toward a Future

FOOD REBORN looks at materials around us
that have never been
considered as resources.

Let’s weave together with gratitude
what is valuable for people
for the planet
and for future generations.

Natural Fibers

We are developing a sustainable natural fibre business called FARMERS TEXTILE from Okinawa
to the rest of the world using technology
to extract fibre from unused agricultural resources and through a systemthat gives back to the farmers
who produce the fibres.

Biodegradable Materials

When fibre was extracted from discarded leaves, the mesophyll was discarded. We use this to produce fertilisers for the farmlands and as a material to be mixed into the biodegradable resins.

The resulting material is mixed with biodegradable resin to produce straws. In addition to this, pineapple leaves will be utilised as a material that returns to the earth in surplus. And cutlery and containers are another material alternative to petroleum-based plastics.

Flat Lemon (Citrus depressa Hayata)
KISEKI is a product that uses all the bounty of nature from the Yanbaru ‘Miracle Forest’
in the northern part of Okinawa, Japan.
The products are sold mainly in Okinawa.
Part of the proceeds is donated to the World Natural Heritage Promotion Council
of the three Yanbaru villages of Kunigami, Higashi and Ogimi.

Company's story

Our Specialty
New food ribbon technology

Unused resources that were not valuable
Born as a valuable fiber that changes society

Food ribbons were focused on solving various issues in the fashion industry to transform unused resources, such as pineapple leaves, into valuable fibers.

However, since existing devices had problems such as productivity, we have been conducting research and development since 2021, realizing fiber extraction technology and smaller weight reduction in the world's first water pressure, which is completely different from existing technology. I did it.

The water used can be circulated and used, so we will reduce water resources.

Furthermore, smaller weight can be introduced in various fields, which will also reduce the CO2 used when each farmer transports a large amount of leaves and stems.

In addition, the recovery system of residue by residue after extraction of fiber is also promoted by the fact that there is a low environmental impact of residue → livestock feed → biogas → digestive juice (organic fertilizer) → to pineapple farm.
Our story
Philosophy

We have our origins in a saying
that grandmothers in Okinawa
taught us the word “Kafu Arashimisore”.

We want to convey the invisible and important things in a tangible form.
This is how we started FOOD REBORN.

History

FOODREBORN was established on 20 September 2017.

Inspired by the way of life of a grandmother in Ogimi Village, started product development of Ogimi Village Shikwasa; in 2019, expanded into natural fiber business using pineapple leaves and biodegradable materials business.
