Fermentstation is an R&D startup that creates a circular economic society by regenerating and recycling unused resources through its original fermentation technology.
We produce alcohol by fermenting and distilling unused resources. The fermented residue will be used as functional cosmetic ingredients, animal feed for hens and cattle, and furthermore, by using the manure from the animals as fertilizers, we are creating a zero waste sustainable circular society with local communities. We incorporate sustainable circulation into all processes and develop cosmetics, daily necessities, and miscellaneous goods through collaboration with our partners.

Our Specialty
Recently, effective utilization of unused biomass, including food waste/residues, non-standard agricultural products and abandoned farmland, is becoming a global issue.
However, unused biomass and upcycled materials (such as cosmetic ingredients) each have millions of potential targets, making it difficult to find the right biomass with the right material.
Fermenstation converts unused biomass into value-added materials using its proprietary fermentation upcycling technology.
When upcycling unused biomass that has diverse composition through fermentation, pathway design, including selection and combination of optimal enzymes and microbes, is essential.
Features of Fermenstation’s biomanufacturing;
1. Creating a crude product that is designed to contain specific targeted compounds.
2. Cascaded utilization of solid materials resulting in no waste and our fermentation residue can be used as fermented extract and livestock feed
Our proprietary technology platform, including unused biomass database and enzymes / microbes libraries, is a key to realize the above concept.
Basically, we use naturally-derived enzymes and microorganisms, thus allowing for utilizing fermentation residue containing microbial cells and turning them into safe cosmetic materials and livestock feed.

Our core business in producing organic rice ethanol is founded upon our using organic rice produced from re-cultivated unused rice paddies. We are also creating new businesses through using food byproducts coming from large food and beverage factories. We deliver new value-added products through our original fermentation technology to create something new from what was only considered waste.
