Our story
How it started
Linc International, consultancy of one of FarmTop’s Founders, has always been aware of problems that have been plaguing the Philippines.
Having worked on corporate and national sustainability projects across different industries, they have always been aware of the issues in food, energy, and water.
Experts have predicted the effects of food security issues. In urban areas, this will be a problem as early as 2025.
Some of the root causes are outdated farming methods and the lack of farm to market infrastructures. As a result, farming is one of the most financially-challenged professions. Poverty in the sector further ensures difficulties in the agricultural sector.
FarmTop is committed to bringing best-in-class methods to the country, as we turned to farming in Vietnam and Israel as benchmarks.
While the system continues to be a work in progress, our yields have shown profuse increases over the past years.
We continue to take advantage of the benefits of this technology: increase in yield per square meter, year-round production, resilience against inclement weather, efficient use of water, and growing produce organically.
