What we do
What is cultivated meat?
Cultivated meat (also known as cultured meat) is real animal meat grown from animal cells. However, there is no animal slaughter involved! Cultivated meat is NOT a plant-based meat substitute product. It is real meat and no different from the meat obtained from a slaughtered sheep, chicken, pig, or cow. Well, actually, it’s better!
How is cultivated meat produced?
A small biopsy is taken from a live animal in order to obtain starter cells (the only animal product used in the entire process!). These cells are then inserted into a nutrient-rich (FBS-free) culture medium where they can easily increase and multiply inside bioreactors. The cells are then characterized and differentiated into muscle and fat in order to produce meat.
Is cultivated meat vegan?
