There are many benefits for companies using unbundled Energy Attribute Certificates to reach their 100% renewable energy goal, however, it is well documented that it creates little to no guaranteed additionality.

The general assumption is that if a company is using 100% renewable energy, this will help to drive the energy transition and help to lower global emissions. However, without additionality, this is not the case leading to claims of GREENWASHING.
